Bullet-riddled body in Tustin apartment

The bloody body of a gunshot victim found in a Tustin apartment was identified Monday as a Tustin resident.

Police hunted at least two suspects seen running from the death scene.

Israel Corpus, 23, was pronounced dead at 4:23 p.m. Sunday at Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, according to the Orange County coroner’s office.

Officers responded to a shots fired call at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of Mitchell Avenue just before 4 p.m., according to Tustin police Sgt. Sean Whitely.

The man now identified as Corpus was found with a gunshot wound, Whitely said.

The suspects in the homicide fled the area, Whitely said. They are described as Hispanic men in their 20s, he said.
