The late-night quiet of the quaint tourist haven of downtown Laguna Beach was shattered as four police cars converged and officers drew their guns on a 58-year-old woman stopped for driving a stolen car.
A police dog was finally used to force the Huntington Beach suspect from the vehicle and she was then taken into custody.
Locals and tourists watched as the traffic stop happened about 10 p.m. Friday, in the 200 block of Forest Avenue in downtown Laguna Beach, Laguna Beach police Sgt. Jim Cota told the Orange County Register.
By that hour many of the shops a few blocks from the beach had closed, but restaurants and bars were still attracting patrons and the nearby Laguna Pageant of the Masters performance was just letting out.
