Sober-living roommate murder in Tustin

A 45-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of gunning down his roommate at a sober-living facility in Tustin.

The fatal shooting occurred about 7:20 a.m. in the 14500 block of Carfax Drive, according to Tustin police Lt. Bob Wright.

Raul Delagarza, whose last known permanent address was in Riverside, was booked on suspicion of murder, Wright said.

When officers responded to the shooting call, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound, Wright said. The victim, whose name and age were not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect fled on foot, Wright added, but investigators tracked him down to a residence in an unincorporated area of the county near Anaheim and arrested him without incident, Wright said.

The two were assigned roommates, he said.
