Thousands of Xanax pills, two rifles and ammo were found in the apartment of an Irvine suspect who was carrying a stolen handgun when he was arrested on suspicion of dealing drugs and guns, police have announced.

The suspect was taken into custody after authorities carried out a month-long investigation.

Robert K. Mireles, 24, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of an assault weapon and possession of a stolen loaded weapon, according to Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police Department.

Police suspect Mireles was dealing drugs and guns out of his apartment in the Los Olivos Village apartments near the Irvine Spectrum shopping center, Mohr said.

Mireles had a loaded 9 mm handgun on him that had been reported stolen when he was arrested, Mohr said. Police also allegedly found thousands of Xanax pills, two rifles and ammunition in his apartment, Mohr said.
