Two men suspected of tying up three people and ransacking a home in Seal Beach have been arrested, police said.
The home invasion robbery was reported Aug. 21 in the 1100 block of Seal Way where the two suspects broke into a home, said Seal Beach Police Sgt. Michael Henderson.
Arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of home invasion robbery, burglary and making criminal threats were Henry Derderian, 22, and Aaron Michael Lipsey, 24, Henderson said.
Lipsey was arrested in Huntington Beach and Derderian in Costa Mesa, where both suspects live, Henderson said.
The suspects broke into a home and tied up the three men inside before ransacking the residence. The suspects told the victims they had a gun but none was ever seen, Henderson said.
The suspects stole a safe before fleeing, Henderson said.
One victim, an 18-year-old man, told a television news crew he escaped the home and ran to a nearby boardwalk with duct tape on his head and hands, screaming for help.
The man said the robbers took their personal identification cards and threatened to harm their families if they told the police.
