The Coroner’s Office Monday identified a 46-year-old man who was killed when the car he drove hit an embankment and flipped over in Orange.

The motorist was identified as Joe Ramirez, of Sun City, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash took place about 4:45 p.m. Sunday on Santiago Canyon Road, police told the Orange County Register.

Ramirez’s Audi sedan was headed west on Santiago Canyon Road when he apparently lost control of the car while approaching Jamboree Road, hit a raised embankment and overturned, the Register reported.

“We believe speed to be a factor in the collision,” Orange Police Officer Sgt. Phil McMullin told the newspaper.
