A magnitude 3.5 earthquake rumbled through Orange County Monday afternoon.
The earthquake at 3:18 p.m. was centered roughly 1.7 miles southwest of Yorba Linda and 2.2 miles east of Placentia, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was quickly followed by a magnitude 2.0 aftershock.
Orange County sheriff’s spokeswoman Carrie Braun said the department did not receive any reports of damage, and the nearby Nixon Library was unscathed, a spokesperson said.
Seismologist Lucy Jones, whose Twitter feed is a go-to for quake information, described it as a “little earthquake.”
“Not on any of the big mapped faults. Just one of the little adjustments,” she wrote.
