A man was killed Tuesday in a hit-and-run crash on the northbound Santa Ana (101) Freeway in the downtown Los Angeles area.

The man was injured about 6:45 a.m. near Whittier Boulevard and died at the scene, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Information on the man’s identity was not immediately available. One lane was blocked while an investigation was conducted into the circumstances of the death.
