A 34-year-old man was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and child annoyance of a 9-year-old boy, who were his roommates in an apartment in Orange.
Olbin Noel Zunigaalvarez was charged with single felony counts of sexual penetration of a child 14 and older by a foreign object and by force, assault of a minor with the intent to commit a sex offense, sexual battery and lewd act on a child 14 or 15 as well as a misdemeanor count of child annoyance, according to court records.
Zunigaalvarez, who is a painter, was being held on $200,000 bail after his arrest Monday, according to jail records.
The teen came forward Monday to her family about the alleged attacks, which happened in October, according to Sgt. Phil McMullin of the Orange Police Department.
The girl told police that the defendant would to try to force himself on top of her, grabbing her breast and groin over her clothes and that she kicked him to get him to back off, McMullin said. The defendant also allegedly would consistently make “inappropriate and sexual comments to her,” McMullin said.
Zunigaalvarez was also accused of looking at the 9-year-old boy when he was showering or using the bathroom, McMullin said.
