Palm Springs International Airport has been named “Best Small U.S. Airport” in the annual The Points Guy travel website reader’s choice awards, airport officials announced Tuesday.
The 2021 TPG Awards were voted on by readers of The Points Guy in four airport categories: Best Large U.S. Airport, Best Mid-Sized U.S. Airport, Best Small U.S. Airport, and Best International Airport.
While PSP was named Best Small U.S. Airport, Dallas-Fort Worth International won Best Large U.S. Airport, Dallas Love Field was Best Mid-Sized U.S. Airport, and London-Heathrow International was Best International Airport.
PSP was one of 34 nominees for the award. They were selected based on criteria established by the U.S Department of Transportation, which defined small airports as any airport that saw less than 1 million passengers in a year.
“We’re thrilled PSP has been named Best Small U.S. Airport,” said Scott White, president & CEO for Visit Greater Palm Springs.
“With its open-air walkways and lushly landscaped courtyards that lead within minutes to baggage claim and its breathtaking mountain views, PSP is a surprisingly welcomed and stress-free experience for visitors. This reader’s choice award is a testament to that.”
