The Coachella Valley Firebirds Monday unveiled their inaugural season hockey jersey.

The team held the special unveiling event at the Palm Springs Air Museum in front of fans who had invested in season tickets, as well as the first 300 to purchase the team jersey during a blind pre-sale event in December.

The jersey prominently features the Firebirds’ red, orange and black logo with a fierce-looking bird breathing fire. The secondary logo on the jersey is a palm tree against a field of mountains. The palm tree has nine fronds, one for each Coachella Valley city. The jerseys come in black and white.

In addition to the jersey unveiling, the Firebirds donated $10,000 to the Desert Blaze youth hockey team as a means to support youth hockey in the valley.

The Firebirds will be the 32nd team in the AHL and will be the minor-league affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. The team is expected to begin playing during 2022-2023 season.
