A fire damaged a house in Riverside Thursday and left a person with burns and smoke inhalation.
Firefighters sent to the 10500 block of Bingham Avenue at 2:25 a.m. extinguished the flames in 20 minutes, the City of Riverside Fire Department reported.
“The first arriving units reported smoke issuing from the front door of the home with the occupants having evacuated to the driveway,” a fire department statement said. “It was quickly learned that there was possibly a family member left inside near or in the room involved.”
Firefighters found the person with burns to his hands and face and suffering from smoke inhalation. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of “moderate” injuries, the fire department reported.
The cause of the fire was listed as “accidental,” but other details were not immediately released. Damage was estimated at $30,000.
