A 12-day streak of increases that boosted the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County to its highest amount since Nov. 14, 2019, ended Friday when the price was unchanged, remaining at $3.958.

The average price rose 4.9 cents during the streak, including a half-cent on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 2.8 cents higher than one week ago, 8.9 cents more than one month ago and $1.263 greater than one year ago.

The average price has risen by 78.2 cents since the start of the year, mainly because of a run of 82 increases in 84 days totaling 70.4 cents that ended March 30.
