A fire that erupted Monday between a motel and gas station in Jurupa Valley burned several palm trees and the exterior of a car wash but was stopped before reaching other structures.
The non-injury blaze was reported shortly after 4 p.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Valley Way, just south of the Pomona (60) Freeway, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames between a Mobil gas station and Motel 6.
The fire spread to the wall of the Mobil car wash but did not burn the interior, according to reports from the scene.
Palm trees adjacent to the facility caught fire, and propane tanks were threatened before crews knocked down the flames about 40 minutes later.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
