A vaccine clinic operated at the Palm Springs Convention Center will close Wednesday and be replaced with a “mobile team” tasked with inoculating Coachella Valley residents.
“The vaccine site at the Palm Springs Convention Center has been such a success and the staff working there has helped protect thousands of Coachella Valley residents,” Riverside County Department of Public Health Director Kim Saruwatari said.
“The conversion to a mobile team will allow Curative to continue to serve the residents in the area in a more focused and effective way.”
The site opened in February and is operated by Curative.
About 53% of all county residents age 12 and over have been either been fully or partially vaccinated, Saruwatari said.
Homebound people with infirmities can make an appointment for a vaccination online at myturn.ca.gov/, or by calling 833-422-4255.
Residents who are not homebound must continue to use the county website to make an appointment, www.rivcoph.org/COVID-19-Vaccine, or call the county’s 211 help line.
