Moreno Valley officials Wednesday asked residents interested in sponsoring military appreciation banners and pavers as part of a citywide salute to service personnel to submit their applications and payments by Oct. 1.
“The program promotes patriotism and pride throughout our community by recognizing residents who are currently serving or have served in the past,” according to a statement released by the city’s Park’s & Community Services Department.
Personalized banners will be placed on light poles lining city streets, while pavers, which are inscribed bricks, will be laid around the Veterans’ Memorial at Civic Center Plaza, officials said.
The pavers contain names of veterans or active duty personnel and their service branch.
Banners require a $150 fee, while pavers are $200, according to the city.
The deadline to submit sponsorship paperwork and payments is Oct. 1. More information is available at www.MoVal.org, or by calling 951-413-3701.
The goal is to have the banners and pavers installed before Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
