A 26-year-old woman was killed and five other people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck on the east end of Moreno Valley, authorities said Monday.
Faith Grant of Hemet was fatally injured shortly before 11 p.m. Sunday on Gilman Springs Road, just west of Kevin Road, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
It was unclear whether Grant was driving one of the vehicles involved, or was a passenger.
The California Highway Patrol said that the three vehicles impacted near the halfway point on Gilman Springs, but no other details were immediately available.
Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location within a few minutes and extricated several victims from the wreckage, including Grant. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four victims suffered moderate injuries, and another suffered minor injuries. The latter declined further medical attention, but the other four victims were taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment, officials said.
An investigation was underway into the possible cause of the wreck.
