About 120 hopefuls participated in an open tryout for the  LA KISS of the Arena Football League Sunday at Whittier College, but none were offered contracts, a team official said.

The tryout included a 40-yard dash, short shuttle run, long jump, the “L drill” where players run around cones positioned in the shape of an L and specific drills for each position group.

Every AFL team annually conducts an open tryout.

“It’s a great opportunity to find unknown talent,” said KISS coach Bob McMillen, whose AFL playing career came as a result of an open tryout. He went on to play nine seasons in the league and was elected to its Hall of Fall in 2013.
