The Los Angeles Dodgers will pay tribute to Frank Sinatra at Friday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Stadium in connection with the 100th anniversary of the late singer’s birth.

Sinatra’s son, Frank Sinatra Jr., will sing the national anthem. A giant birthday card celebrating Sinatra’s centennial birthday, which will be on Dec. 12, will be in the right field plaza for fans to sign. It will be given to Sinatra’s family.

Sinatra’s favorite drink, Jack Daniel’s, will be featured in the plaza bar. Sinatra’s music will be played by DJ Adam from 5-7 p.m.

A fireworks show set to Sinatra’s greatest hits is scheduled to follow the game. Fans will be invited onto the field to watch the show, which will take place before 11 p.m. and is subject to cancellation if the game lasts too long.

The Dodgers were Sinatra’s favorite team and he was a longtime season ticket holder. He sang the national anthem before the team’s 1977 season opener, Tommy Lasorda’s first as its manager.

“Frank was a dear friend to me, he was a Dodger and he bled Dodger blue,” said Lasorda, who is scheduled to attend the game. “In my book, Frank Sinatra is the greatest singer God ever put on earth.”
