The president of Jordan Brand, a division of Nike, presented a full set of shoes that comprise the Air Jordan line to Los Angeles Laker star Kobe Bryant, according to the Lakers.
The presentation of 30 pairs of shoes by Larry Miller to Bryant came as a retirement gift that was given to the Laker star Friday in Toronto where the All-Star game will be held Sunday, according to the L.A. Lakers.
“The Jordan Brand is about more than basketball,” Miller said. “It’s about leaving a legacy and honoring those who have left a legacy. Tonight (Friday) the brand was able to honor one of the game’s great players and the legacy he created,” according to the Lakers.
Each of the sneakers came in white, including the Air Jordan III and Air Jordan VIII which were worn by Bryant on the court in 2002 and 2003. Those shoes also featured purple and gold accents, according to the L.A. Lakers.
