If the Dodgers win, Chicago Police Department Superintendent Eddie Johnson will send Beck an Al’s Italian Beef sandwich but if the Cubs prevail, Beck will ship lunch from Langer’s Delicatessen-Restaurant, which is known for its pastrami sandwiches.
Beck made a similar wager last year with former LAPD Chief William Bratton, who then the New York Police Department commissioner, over the Dodgers- New York Mets National League Division Series, won by the Mets.
Game 1 of the best-of-seven series is set for Saturday at Chicago’s Wrigley Field.
