The Los Angeles Football Club will play its first preseason game Friday, facing MLS Cup champion Toronto FC at UCLA.

LAFC coach Bob Bradley will coach against his son, Reds star midfielder Michael Bradley, for the first time.

The chances of LAFC forward Carlos Vela “playing very much are slim,” because he played all 90 minutes in Mexico’s 1-0 victory over Bosnia- Herzegovina Wednesday night in an exhibition in San Antonio, a team official told City News Service.

LAFC’s roster includes defender Steven Beitashour, who played for Toronto FC the past two seasons. He was signed as a free agent Jan. 24.

The game is closed to the public because “there is not adequate bleachers and parking and security to host fans,” at UCLA’s North Athletic Field, LAFC vice president of communications Seth Burton said.

“Once we open our stadium in April and our very own practice facility at Cal State Los Angeles, we will have open practice events for fans,” Burton said.
