The Los Angeles Dodgers conducted the first of two Pups at the Park nights for the 2022 season Saturday evening with a pregame parade of dogs on the warning track and a dog costume contest in the Centerfield Plaza preceding the 8-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

The second Pups at the Park night of 2022 where a ticket package allowing fans to bring their dogs to the game will be available will be held Sept. 5.

Basketball Hall of Fame member Ann Meyers Drysdale threw the ceremonial first pitch in connection with the first 40,000 ticketed fans receiving a bobblehead of her late husband, Dodger Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale. The giveaway coincided with the 54th anniversary of the start of Drysdale’s then-record 58 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings streak.

Members of Drysdale’s family made the announcement that precedes every Dodger game at Dodger Stadium, “It’s time for Dodger baseball.”
