A 28-year-old man was shot to death Sunday morning at a bus stop near Koreatown, a police lieutenant said.
His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, said Coroner’s Lt. Fred Corral.
The shooting occurred at 1:07 a.m. at Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue, said Lt. Kelly Arnett of the Los Angeles Police Department‘s Olympic Station.
Two men approached the victim as he stood at the bus stop with other people, Arnett said.
“There were some words exchanged and they pulled out a gun and shot him,” she said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Arnett said.
The suspects ran to a black pickup truck, which was last seen going west on Wilshire Boulevard, said Los Angeles police officer Drake Madison of the Media Relations Section.
Detectives plan to check surveillance videos at the busy intersection in their search for leads, Arnett said.
Anyone with any information regarding the shooting was asked to call the LAPD’s Olympic station at (213) 382-9102.
