Los Angeles firefighters quickly extinguished a non- injury apartment fire that broke out Friday morning in the Hyde Park area, a fire department spokesman said.

The blaze inside the first floor of a two-story apartment at 5863 S. Crenshaw Blvd. was reported at 11:25 a.m., said fire department spokesman Shawn Lenske.

The department dispatched 32 firefighters, who knocked down the flames in eight minutes, he said.

“It was a first-floor fire and there was no one at home and no injured in the fire,” Lenske said.

The cause of the blaze remained under investigation, he said.
