A man was hospitalized in serious but stable condition Tuesday after three assailants fired at least 20 rounds at his vehicle in South Los Angeles, authorities said.

The 25-year-old victim was struck four times in the abdomen and ran from the scene, near the intersection of South San Pedro Street and East 106th Street, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Scott Stevens said.

The victim was found by another person near the intersection of Avalon Blvd. and East 108th Street around 1:20 a.m., Stevens said.

Stevens said officers found 15 bullet holes in the victim’s vehicle, a gray Buick, and 20 shells at the scene from a rifle and two pistols.

Stevens said the victim did not offer any information to officers at the scene.
