A suspected shirtless intruder was shot in the head and a security guard stabbed in the face Friday outside a Malibu home believed to be owned by supermodel Miranda Kerr.
Deputies responded about 11:10 a.m. to a home the 4900 block of Puesta del Sol, near Encinal Canyon Road, to a report of a fight involving a person with a gun, according to Sgt. James Braden of the Los Angeles County sheriff’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station.
“When the deputies arrived at the residence they found an armed security guard was involved in a physical altercation with an intruder,” Braden said.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately available, stabbed the guard, who in turn shot the knife-wielding man, according to the sergeant.
Both men were taken to a hospital. The guard, who was airlifted from the scene, was in stable condition and the suspect was in critical condition with non-life-threatening injuries, Braden said.
No residents were at the home at the time and the suspect never entered the residence, he said.
Witnesses told reporters at the scene that a shirtless man apparently jumped over a wall of the private compound and was confronted by the security guard. When the man refused to leave, a struggle ensued.
TMZ and the Daily Mail reported that the property is owned by former Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr.
According to the Daily Mail, the Australian model purchased the property in 2014 following her split from ex-husband Orlando Bloom and lived there with her 5-year-old son Flynn.
Kerr moved out about one month ago, according to KCAL9.
The 33-year-old is engaged to Snapchat co-founder Evan Spiegel.
