The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose six-tenths of a cent Monday to $3.155 after three consecutive decreases totaling 1.2 cents.

The average price is 1.1 cents less than one week ago, 1.7 cents lower than one month ago and 78.9 cents cheaper than one year ago when prices were rising sharply because of diminished supply primarily caused by unplanned maintenance issues at the Chevron and Marathon refineries in Los Angeles County and the absence of imported gasoline.

The average price has dropped 35.3 cents since the start of the year, including three-tenths of a cent on Sunday.
