Irwindale police made one arrest and towed seven vehicle in a DUI/License checkpoint this weekend.
The DUI checkpoint was conducted from 6:30 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Ramona Boulevard and Durbin Street, police reported.
A total of 2,200 vehicles were screened, and one driver was arrested for a suspected DUI. Some 29 drivers were cited for unlicensed driving, three for driving with a suspended licenses and seven cars were towed, police said.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
