The National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles and vicinity on Tuesday calls for another mild August day similar to what we’ve been seeing, with low clouds and fog in the morning burning off by midday with sunny skies through the afternoon. Highs will range from around 70 at the beaches to the upper 70s to mid 80s inland.
Tuesday night it will be mostly clear in the evening then areas of low clouds and fog. Lows in the lower to mid 60s.
The forecast for Wednesday calls for areas of low clouds and fog in the morning then sunny. Highs from the mid to upper 70s at the beaches to the mid 80s to around 90 at downtown Los Angeles and into the valleys. But things will heat up considerably later in the week, with the mercury expected to soar into triple digits starting Thursday in the valleys through the weekend. Beaches could see temperatures reach 80 degrees.
The ultraviolet index level for Tuesday is a very high 11 according to the weather service. A very high exposure level reading of 10, or greater, means a fair skinned person could suffer a sunburn in about four minutes if not protected.
