A mudslide forced the closure of a 35-mile stretch of the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway in the Castaic area for nearly four hours, the California Highway Patrol said Monday.
The mudslide was reported around 7 p.m. in the Fort Tejon area, according to CHP Officer Peter Bishop.
The northbound Golden State Freeway was closed at Parker Road so the mudslide could be cleared, Bishop said. They were reopened at 11:12 p.m. Southbound lanes were not affected.
There was also a wind advisory issued in the Antelope Valley area along the Antelope Valley Freeway from Red Rover Mine to the Kern County Line, the CHP said.
