A westerly swell will bring continued high surf to Southland beaches on Sunday with another following in its wake on Monday.
The highest surf will be along north- and northwest-facing beaches, with waves of 5 to 7 feet. Dangerous rip currents and minor beach erosion are expected.
A larger, long-period northwest swell is forecast to arrive Sunday night and will bring additional high surf to the area through Monday.
The National Weather Service forecast for central Los Angeles from Malibu to Long Beach calls for cloudy conditions Sunday with highs in the 60s. Lows overnight will be in the lower to mid 50s with a 30 percent chance of rain.
Coastal Orange County will see a high of 64 under partly cloudy skies. The low overnight is forecast at 53 with a change of rain.
