A weak storm system will brush portions of eastern Los Angeles county late Sunday into Monday with the potential for light rainfall.

The National Weather Service office in Oxnard said there is potential for a much stronger storm system to arrive on Thursday and Friday. This system could bring much higher rainfall totals with locally heavy rain and there will be a potential of thunderstorms.

Forecasters said any significant downpours on recent burn areas could be a problem for the first mud and debris flows of the season.

The Saturday forecast for central Los Angeles from Malibu to Long Beach calls for sun with highs from the lower to mid 70s at the beaches to the lower to mid 80s inland. Lows overnight will be around 60.
