The Los Angeles Department of Transportation is celebrating California Clean Air Day by providing free rides on all of its public transportation services Wednesday.

Free service will be provided to all riders who take Commuter Express, DASH, LAnow, Cityride, and, for the first 30 minutes of rides, with LADOT’s Metro Bike Share.

“Our way of life must change to reduce the effects of climate change,” LADOT General Manager Seleta Reynolds said. “When we walk, bike, or take public transportation, we are making a choice to reduce pollution and improve the health of ourselves and our communities.”

Details regarding the free rides and how to access them are:

— Commuter Express and DASH: Riders are able to ride LADOT buses and can walk on without depositing cash or tapping their TAP card.

— Cityride: Clients can book their trip normally by calling their service provider. Clients will not be charged for booking a trip scheduled.

— LAnow: Riders will book their trips normally using the LAnow app. When users are asked to pay for their trip, the charge will be $0.

— Bikeshare: LADOT’s Metro Bike Share Partners will provide a free 30-minute ride on California Clean Air Day with the promo code 10219.
