A heat advisory has been issued Monday until 7 p.m. by the National Weather Service for parts of Los Angeles County.

Temperatures in Los Angeles County mountains, Santa Clarita Valley, Santa Monica Mountains, San Fernando Valley and San Gabriel Valley are expected to reach 105.

The heat advisory will be in effect in Acton, Mount Wilson, Castaic, Newhall, Santa Clarita, Valencia, Burbank, Northridge, Universal City, Woodland Hills, East Los Angeles, El Monte, Pasadena, Pomona and San Gabriel.

Hot temperatures can lead to heat illness, the NWS warns and recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air conditioned rooms and out of the sun, and checking on relatives and neighbors.
