A car fire behind a two-story duplex in Leimert Park Sunday evening burned the residence before it was put out by firefighters within 20 minutes.

The fire was reported at 10:13 p.m. Sunday at 3548 W. Stocker St., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Nicholas Prange.

Flames were showing when firefighters arrived at the duplex with parking under the apartments, Prange said.

No injuries were reported, he said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.

A news videographer at the scene said the duplex sustained considerable damage and that several Los Angeles Police Department officers had to restrain a woman who appeared to want to go back inside the residence.

A man was also handcuffed at the scene, the photographer said. It was unclear if the man was ultimately arrested.
