A person was killed Sunday morning during a vehicle fire at a freeway offramp to the Gardena (91) Freeway in Compton, authorities said.
The fire occurred about 2 a.m. at the Santa Fe Avenue offramp to the westbound freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 2:37 a.m. for the Santa Fe Avenue offramp of the westbound Gardena (91) Freeway, south of Santa Fe Avenue to investigate the car fire fatality.
A representative from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office was called to the location about 5:15 a.m.
