It was obvious to many viewers of “Wheel of Fortune” watchers. During a Veterans Week episode Tuesday, Nura Fountano threw out nonsense letters in an effort to deploy winnings to her fellow veteran.

The answer on the board was “Following Footprints,” but Fountano guessed Q, Z and X as well as took too much time twice — losing her turns.

Host Pat Sajak was incredulous:

Sajak: “Now, may I ask you a question?”
Fountano : “Sure.”
Sajak: “You called some unusual letters in that round?”
Fountano : “That’s what I saw.”
Sajak: “Well that was an unsatisfactory answer. But she’s not under oath.”

Social media saluted her effort to let her comrade in arms win some money.
