A 41-year-old man who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning while riding his bicycle in Costa Mesa was identified by the Orange County coroner’s office.
Jose Vasquez-Perez of Costa Mesa was hit about 1:20 a.m. as he was headed north on Newport Boulevard, just south of Industrial way, according to the coroner’s office.
Vasquez-Perez died at the scene, according to authorities.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
It’s unknown if the driver who struck Vasquez-Perez was cited or arrested. The accident was being investigated by the Newport Beach Police.
