Crews put out a pesky fire Friday morning in the tractor of a semi-truck along Interstate 10 in an unincorporated area of Desert Center.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was reported at 5 a.m. at Highway 77 and the eastbound side of Interstate 10, but it took 90 minutes to get the fire contained, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The tractor portion of the big rig was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

Containment was declared at 6:30 a.m. and firefighters were expected to remain on scene mopping up for about an hour.
