A pedestrian died from injuries he suffered when he walked in front of a vehicle on a street in Bell Gardens, authorities said.
Police responded to the scene of the crash in the 6600 block of Jaboneria Road about 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, where they found the victim trapped under a vehicle, according to a statement from the Bell Gardens Police Department.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics arrived and treated the victim at the scene then took him to a hospital, where he later died, police said.
A preliminary investigation determined “the pedestrian walked out between parked vehicles and onto the roadway when he was struck by the vehicle going south on Jaboneria Road from Loveland Street,” police said.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The age and name of the victim were not disclosed.
