A wind-driven wildfire that erupted Monday on the Soboba Indian Reservation scorched about six acres before crews got it partially contained.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 3 p.m. in the area of Castile Canyon and Soboba roads, near the Oaks Golf Course, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Nearly 100 personnel were sent to the location and encountered flames burning at a slow rate below a ridge. Two Cal Fire air tankers were also summoned to make runs on the brusher, giving crews time to begin establishing containment lines.
Along with county personnel, firefighters from the Soboba Tribal Fire Department were working to encircle the blaze.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
