A female driver has been hospitalized with unknown injuries after her vehicle collided head-on with a big rig on the Harbor (110) Freeway in Gardena early Saturday.
The collision occurred as the victim’s Mini was being driven northbound in the southbound lanes of the freeway, near the Gardena (91) Freeway at 3:35 a.m., a California Highway Patrol officer told a videographer at the scene.
The driver of the big rig attempted to swerve to avoid the Mini, and in doing so, jack-knifed his vehicle, which then struck a sound wall alongside the freeway, leaving a large hole, the officer said.
