A vehicle slammed into the center divider on eastbound Interstate 10 in Palm Springs Monday and caught fire, but nobody was hurt.

The non-injury crash was reported at 9:53 a.m., east of Indian Canyon Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP reported that a vehicle hit a center guard rail before veering across the interstate and into a row of trees off the shoulder.

After coming to a stop, the vehicle caught fire, and the flames spread to nearby vegetation, but the blaze was quickly doused by Riverside County Fire Department personnel, according to the CHP.
