Authorities Monday identified a man who was killed when the compact SUV he was driving crashed on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in the Baldwin Park area.
The crash was reported at 11:19 p.m. Sunday near Ramona Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Bruce Acosta, 24, of Cudahy, died at scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office and the CHP.
Acosta was driving a 2018 Nissan Rogue at an unknown speed when it veered off the right side of the freeway and onto the embankment, and then went back onto the freeway, where it was struck by a car, the CHP reported.
The driver of the car was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the CHP reported.
