An estimated several hundred gallons of gasoline spilled Sunday into the Alhambra wash and was moving south toward San Marino.
Alhambra police said the Sunday evening spill has left a lingering gas smell, which should dissipate over the next six hours.
Police advised residents to stay inside their residences with the windows and doors closed.
