A man who allegedly killed his wife and their nearly 2- month-old son in the Westmont area of Los Angeles was charged Tuesday with two counts of capital murder.
Algernon Fitzgerald Rieux, 26, was ordered to be held without bail while awaiting arraignment July 13 in connection with the killings of Jacqueline Montoya, 25, and Joshua Eli-King Rieux.
The mother and her infant son were found dead last Thursday in the 11100 block of South Normandie Avenue. Authorities have not disclosed how they were killed.
The murder charges include the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders. Prosecutors will decide later whether to seek the death penalty against Rieux, who was arrested early last Friday in the San Pedro area.
