More than $750,000 was awarded for transportation infrastructure projects in Riverside County, state officials announced Monday.

Under the latest round of funding tied to Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair & Accountability Act of 2017, three projects were designated amounts ranging from $221,000 to $300,000, according to Caltrans.

The largest allocation was $300,000 for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians in Banning to develop strategies, in collaboration with the Southern California Association of Governments and other regional agencies, for reducing greenhouse gas emissions on the reservation.

The city of Moreno Valley was awarded $250,000 for its ” Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Master Plan.”

According to the plan, the city will establish an “infrastructure network designed to facilitate the movement of electric vehicles within the city and surrounding areas.”

The city of Menifee received $221,325 for its “Complete Streets Plan,” which is focused on identifying rural and undeveloped locations where pedestrian and bicycling routes are needed to ensure the city is offering “multi-modal” opportunities for all its residents.

According to Caltrans, the latest slate of SB 1 awards encompasses more than 50 entities, for a total statewide allocation of $34.7 million.
