A pedestrian killed on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Pico Rivera was publicly identified Tuesday.
He was 40-year-old Israel Hernandez.
The death occurred just after 3 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes at Rose Hills Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at 3:22 a.m. shutting down all southbound lanes in the area. The HOV lane was reopened to traffic at 4:20 a.m.
