Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department battled a brush fire in Jurupa Valley Saturday.
The fire was reported around 4 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Granite Hill Drive and Lindsay Street.
Firefighters reported at 5:37 p.m. the fire’s forward rate of spread was stopped at 35 acres.
At 9:10 p.m., officials reported the fire was 100% contained by lines of cleared vegetation and firefighters planned to remain at the scene overnight watching for hot spots and strengthening those containment lines.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and no injuries were immediately reported.
There were no evacuation orders or warnings for nearby homes, but the road was closed at Connie, Lindsay, Campbell and Fleming streets. The roads were reopened.
